The novel inspiration for Doug Limanās 2014 action classic is getting another go on the big screen ā check out the All You Need Is Kill trailer below.
The source material behind Hollywoodās best-most-re-titled film is getting an anime adaptation from Studio 4°C and Warner Bros. Japan.
The film variously known as Edge Of Tomorrow or Live, Die, Repeat was based on a 2004 Japanese light novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, itself boasting the less grammatically coherent (but arguably more interesting) title of All You Need Is Kill.
The plot finds a new recruit in a particularly hopeless alien war stuck in a time loop which allows him to re-live his first day on the front line over and over again. As youād expect, this makes him very good at killing aliens.

Hiroshi Sakurazakaās light novel has been the subject of several adaptations since its publication in 2004. Ahead of the release of Doug Liman and Tom Cruiseās 2014 film, a manga adaptation by RyÅsuke Takeuchi and Takeshi Obata was serialised in Japan and North America.
The 2014 film takes a few departures from the book, namely by (no spoilers here) Hollywood-ising the ending slightly, and refusing to give Tom Cruise a massive axe. Hopefully this version will re-instate the massive axe. Hooray for massive axes (used responsibly).
Studio 4°C is an animation studio behind multiple anime features and TV shows in Japan, alongside Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox film and the 2011 Thundercats reboot in collaboration with Warner Brosā US arms.
No release date (in any territory) has been announced just yet ā but keep your peepers peeled on Film Stories for when we know more.
