Alex Proyas’ Dark City is getting a limited edition 4K UHD Blu-ray release in June. More details below.
Alex Proyas’ 1998 cult film Dark City is getting a 4K release this coming June, courtesy of Arrow Video. The film will be available on DVD, Blu-Ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray on 23rd June. The release will include both the theatrical release and Proyas’ director’s cut, which was originally released in 2008.
Here’s a synopsis: John Murdoch (Rufus Sewell) wakes in a hotel bathtub with no memory of who he is or how he got there, but there’s a body on the floor with bloody spirals carved into the flesh and a voice on the phone that tells him to flee. Soon Murdoch is on the run, wanted by the police, a woman who claims to be his wife and a group of mysterious pale men who seem to control everyone and everything in the city… except him.
Rufus Sewell is joined by William Hurt, Kiefer Sutherland, Jennifer Connelly and Richard O’Brien in the film’s extensive, impressive cast. Proyas wrote the script together with Lem Dobbs and David S. Goyer.
