Dave Gorman is bringing Modern Life Is Goodish back after a seven year hiatus.

In 2013, comedian Dave Gorman took his brand of observational, PowerPoint based comedy to the small screen in Modern Life Is Goodish for Dave, in which he put varies aspects of 21st century life under the microscope, from queuing at the bar to adverts.

Gorman ended the show after six series in 2017 due to the pressure of the intense workload, putting together six hour long stand up shows and doing the PowerPoint slides to go with it.

However, after a seven year hiatus, Dave, which will soon be rebranded as U&Dave, has confirmed that the show will be back for a sixth series comprising of four hour long episodes.

Gorman said ā€œIā€™m delighted to be getting back in the Goodish saddle. Itā€™s been seven years since I hung up my Modern Life Is Goodish clicker and in that time, life has definitely got seven years moderner ā€“ so there should be plenty to get my teeth intoā€.

Gorman first gained notoriety in 2000 for documenting a drunken bet he made with Danny Wallace to find and meet ā€˜loadsā€™ of namesakes. Later this became 54 ā€“ one for every card in the pack, including the jokers. So successful was his quest, he turned it into a stage show, a book and a documentary series.

His next show told the story of his Googlewhack Adventure ā€“ the term refers to the act of typing two disparate words into the search engine which only brings back a single result. Itā€™s something thatā€™s all but impossible in 2024, but in 2003 Gormanā€™s quest took him around the world ā€“ the recording of this show is well worth a watch, Gorman beautifully weaves the surprisingly high stakes drama mixed with the inherent silliness of the premise.

You can watch series two and three of Dave Gormanā€™s Modern Life Is Goodish on UKTV Play
