Film nerds of the West Midlands: our latest live Film Stories show is heading to the Midlands Arts Centre on Wednesday 17th December. It’s our last show of the year, and you can find tickets for it right here.

Presented by Simon Brew (er, that’s me), these shows pack as much as possible into 90 minutes. To give you an idea what’s involved, here’s a rough look at what happened at one of our earlier shows this year:

Some really odd examples of how people behave in a cinema
Highlighting an assortment of films, filmmakers and events around the West Midlands area
A clip where Nicolas Cage shouts “testicles” at the top of his voice
A look at stunt performers in movies, telling the tales behind one or two specific, incredible stunts
An on-stage interview with a Birmingham-based action movie director and stunt performer, who told tales of why their leg was in a massive brace thing, working on Gladiator II et al, and their new movie
The story of how Ronald Reagan was nearly strangled by a primate on screen
Five or six tiny little film stories involving 28 Years Later, Shazam and Manchester United Football Club
And then! A showcase of some of the stuff that appeared in film magazines from 1910s to 1950s. Er, there was a lot of what was seen in the room, stays in the room. Some of that stuff was wild.
