Channel your inner Dominic Toretto with Hot Wheels Unleashed 2's Fast & Furious DLC, out this October.

Do you remember the bit in Fast X where we see Mia (Jordana Brewster) and Dominic Torettoā€™s son, Little B, playing an arcade racer in their Los Angeles home? Probably not, because it was quickly replaced by yet another bombastic action scene in traditional Fast & Furious style.

At any rate, the arcade racer briefly glimpsed on-screen was actually the upcoming Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 ā€“ Turbocharged. Thereā€™s a good reason for that bit of product placement ā€“ Universal Picturesā€™ gaming arm has long since signed a deal with Mattel and Italian developer Milestone to bring a Fast & Furious-themed content update to the upcoming Hot Wheels sequel.

Released on the same day as Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 in October, the Fast & Furious DLC will feature several vehicles from the film franchise ā€“ including Vin Dieselā€™s ā€œunstoppableā€ Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody ā€“ as well as give players the chance to ā€œreplicate some of the most spectacular stunts performed in the films.ā€

Thereā€™s also a teaser trailer to get your adrenaline pumping. Here it is:

ā€œWe’re delighted to bring these two iconic racing franchises even closer together in Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 ā€“ Turbocharged, building on years of collaboration with our wonderful partners at Universal Games and Digital Platforms,ā€ Mike DeLaet, Mattelā€™s head of digital gaming said in an effusive press release. ā€œYou’d be hard pressed to find a more natural pairing than Hot Wheels and Fast & Furious, and the team at Milestone have done an outstanding job with bringing these fan-favourite vehicles to life in authentic Hot Wheels Unleashed fashion.ā€

The Fast franchiseā€™s increasingly outlandish, physics-defying stunts certainly feels like a logical fit for a Hot Wheels game, though weā€™re hoping the developers remember to include the occasional digitised clip of Vin Diesel growling something about ā€œFAMILYā€ to truly capture the moviesā€™ flavour.

Hotwheels Unleashed 2 ā€“ Turbocharged, and its Fast & Furious DLC, are out on 16 October for PC, Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
