TMNT: The Last Ronin from THQ Nordic sees the one surviving turtle go up against the Foot Clan.

Paramount Global, the rights holders for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, first revealed the existence of a video game adaptation of the comic book TMNT: The Last Ronin back in March ā€“ and now we have a teaser trailer for the upcoming game.

In the five-issue comic book series from 2020, which was written by Kevin Eastman, Master Splinter and three of the turtles have been killed, and itā€™s up to the sole remaining turtle to seek revenge against the Foot Clan. The identity of the surviving turtle is kept secret until the finale, and they fight with all four of the turtlesā€™ signature weapons.

Accordingly, the teaser trailer shows four candles gradually being snuffed out until only one is left burning, followed by a splash screen showing a solo turtle squaring up against some Foot Clan neā€™er do wells.

TMNT: The Last Ronin is being published by THQ Nordic and developed by German studio Black Forest Games, which was also behind the Destroy All Humans! remake.

The dark tone of The Last Ronin couldnā€™t be further from the light-hearted action of the recently released (and very good) movie TMNT: Mutant Mayhem. But that film will have undoubtedly rekindled interest in the TMNT franchise, so thereā€™s a chance this new turtles game could do very well indeed.

However, thereā€™s currently no release date for TMNT: The Last Ronin ā€“ all we know is that itā€™s coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
