The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge is a short animated to Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill, due to appear in Fortnite this month.
Once two films, Quentin Tarantino’s 2000s revenge saga Kill Bill is heading back to cinemas as The Whole Bloody Affair – a lengthy night out lasting about four hours.
To coincide with it, Fortnite players will soon have access to The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge – a short animated film based on a bit of plot Tarantino cut out of his movies. It would have seen Yuki, sister of Gogo Yubari, travel to the USA to get her own revenge on The Bride (Uma Thurman).
Thurman reprises her leading role (civilian name: Beatrice Kiddo), albeit via performance capture, and the whole thing looks fittingly violent and over-the-top, as you’d expect from a Kill Bill story. Written and directed by Tarantino, Yuki’s Revenge will also play in cinemas as part of The Whole Bloody Affair from 5th December.
Fortnite players, however, will get to see the short early: it’s coming to the game/platform on the 30th November – you can expect the premiere to start at 7pm GMT in the UK (thanks for the timings, Eurogamer).
Originally released in 2003 and 2004, Kill Bill’s two volumes were originally intended to be one; this new cut therefore means that audiences will finally see the film as Tarantino intended.
“I wrote and directed it as one movie – and I’m so glad to give the fans the chance to see it as one movie,” Tarantino wrote in a statement shared by Variety. “The best way to see Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is at a movie theatre in glorious 70mm or 35mm. Blood and guts on a big screen in all its glory!”
