What will Kojima Productions focus its efforts on, now that Death Stranding is out in the world? Maybe, just maybe, a new fully-fledged horror game – and for everyone that got a chance to play Hideo Kojima’s Silent Hills demo, P.T., that’s a terrifically exciting prospect.
Kojima posted on Twitter late last week that if he is to make the scariest horror game, he’ll have to turn his eye (yes) to scary horror films first, including the genre movie that put the wind up him the most when developing P.T., the Pang brothers’ 2002 classic, The Eye.
“As to make the scariest horror game, I’ll watch the scary movies in order to awaken my horror soul,” Kojima mused. “THE EYE is the Thai horror movie I rent when making PT but was too scary to finish watching. The package is scary so I rented the disc only. Will I be able to finish watching?”
If Kojima fancies taking some of the scares out of The Eye, he could try renting David Moreau and Xavier Palud’s 2008 Jessica Alba-starring US remake, which wore the creep factor of the original film right down to the nub with its very silly effects and performances, though we don’t recommend it.
