Do you feel the need? The need? For speed? Well, good tbh. EA are kinda counting on it, as Need For Speed Heat is set for release next week. 2018 saw a Need For Speed drought after the last game, Payback, was mired in microtransactional horrors. Insert your ‘EA: it’s in the game’ meme of choice here.
Swedish developer Ghost Games are behind the wheel again for Need For Speed Heat, and if you’re thinking it’s time to get back into Tokyo drifting (it’s just called drifting if you’re not in Tokyo – Ed) with the franchise, you may want to check out the absolutely-fine-but-not-terrifically-inspiring trailer below…
“Burn through the streets of Palm City in Need for Speed Heat. By day, earn bank to create your perfect ride through sanctioned Speedhunters Showdown events. By night, enter illicit street races alongside your crew, earning rep and building heat. But stay ready – cops are waiting and not all of them play fair. The roads and the rides are endless in this twenty-four-hour street racer where only the fast are free to chase the line, risk everything and burn all limits.”
Need For Speed Heat will be Tokyo drfiting (I give up – Ed) on to PS4, Xbox One and PC on 8th November.
