A wise man once said that life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. But as the kids say nowadays …ain’t nobody got time for that.
Wireframe is summing up the most essential games news for you in bite-size chunks, as often as we can.

Pocket Rocket
File us firmly under “wanna have a go” when it comes to Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order for Nintendo Switch, but if you’re as excited about blowing stuff up with the Guardians Of The Galaxy as we are, you’ll probably need to do a little prep work first. It’s been revealed that the game is going to take up a whopping 13.2GB of Switch memory – nearly half the standard internal storage – so if you see any microSD card deals on the horizon, you might want to think about adding one of those bad boys to your cart so you don’t get a nasty surprise later.
Heiststone
Hearthstone: Rise Of Shadows’ latest solo trip is alive and kicking. The Dalaran Heist, a new adventure mode set to take place over the next YEAR, will see you join arch-villain Rafaam in his plot to steal the entire floating city of Dalaran over five chapters.
Persistence Is Futile
You’ll soon be able to play FPS The Persistence on PS4 without VR in a free update called The Complete Edition. Game director Stuart Tilley announced the news himself this week on the PlayStation Blog:
“The Complete Edition is going to be the next free update for everyone that already owns the game,” he revealed. “And for the first time ever, this update will make The Persistence playable on what we now fondly call ‘flat screen TVs.'”
Never heard of ’em.
The game is also getting some new shiny bits and bobs to make it worth your while, which you can read about right here if you fancy it.
Dammit, Jim! I’m A Gamer Not A Millionaire
iam8bit are releasing a playable Earthworm Jim 1+2 25th Anniversary Edition SNES cartridge, limited to 2000 units. It will cost you about £105. Yep. Yep. It’s a lot. But also …look at it:
We don’t need all these kidneys, surely? We could spare one?
Frenemies
In a surprising move, Microsoft and Sony are partnering up to work on cloud gaming together.
“The two companies will explore joint development of future cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure to support their respective game and content-streaming services,” said Microsoft in a statement. “These efforts will also include building better development platforms for the content creator community.”
We’re likely to hear a bit more about this in the coming months, as no one is quite sure if there’s more to this new deal yet, but Microsoft have specifically made clear their intention to share Azure tech with Sony going forward.
“Sony has always been a leader in both entertainment and technology, and the collaboration we announced today builds on this history of innovation,” explained Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft. “Our partnership brings the power of Azure and Azure AI to Sony to deliver new gaming and entertainment experiences for customers.”
