A wise man once said that life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. But as the kids say nowadays …ain’t nobody got time for that.

Wireframe is summing up the most essential games news for you in bite-size chunks, as often as we can.

Read on…

Party Anthem

Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson says that Anthem can still be “something special and something great” and confirmed that EA and BioWare are going to continue working on it until they’re satisfied they’ve produced a game that players will want to stick with.

“If I think about Anthem on a seven to ten year cycle, it may not have had the start that many of us wanted, including our players,” he said. “I feel like that team is really going to get there with something special and something great, because they’ve demonstrated that they can.”

Shake, Rattle And Bail

Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories will be available on Switch, PS4 and PC next year, NISA has confirmed.

“A calm summer day turns into catastrophe when a massive earthquake strikes your city, throwing buildings and lives into chaos. In order to survive, you must navigate familiar locations under unfamiliar circumstances. The fellow survivors you meet and crucial decisions you make will affect the course of your experience and ultimately determine how your journey through this crisis will end.”

It’s pretty nerve-crunching so this is going on our list:

Dota You Know

Valve is dipping a toe into the original mobile game market. A Dota Underlords preview is now available on iOS and Android for Dota 2 Battle Pass subscribers to try. It’s a slight spin on Dota 2 mod Dota Auto Chess and it’ll come to Steam, Mac, and Linux later on.

My Diabolical Box

Level-5’s Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box is now available on iOS and Android! 158 puzzles and an 8-10 hour story will keep us busy while we’re pretending to respond to work emails.

Zero Effect

Ready to try Mass Effect 2 from a first-person perspective? LordEmil1 has created a mod that’ll sort that out for you, and you can download it right here. It’s currently exploration-only, but it’s still quite fascinating.

LordEmil1 has now moved on creating a similar mod for Mass Effect and Mass Effect 3…

Up To Your Neck

In further mod creator news, you can now feel the weight of everything strapped to you in Skyrim with a new mod that makes going for a quick swim a little less quick, and affected by inventory weight, armour and stamina.

“I find Skyrim’s swimming to be immersive breaking in the extreme,” says modder Paradoxnrt. “Even while wearing heavy Plate Armour, you can swim faster than Olympic swimmers. So, this mod is for those of us who like things (a lot) more realistic.”

Drown away.

Run, Forrest Demon, Run!

Icon64, who have previously brought us Sizzler and Rocky Memphis : The Legend Of Atlantis, have announced that a new C64 endless runner game called RUN DEMON RUN will be available through Psytronik very soon (it’s 99.9% done, apparently).

It looks pretty fun!

Kid Glove

More retro news (we have themes today it seems) as multi-genre arcade game 198X has been released out of Hi-Bit Studios.

“This is the journey of Kid, a teenager stuck between the limitations of innocent youth and the obligations of inevitable adulthood. The story unfolds when Kid discovers the local arcade – finding new worlds, and new meaning, in video games.”

Something For The Weekend

Tripwire has made Killing Floor 2 free until 25th June. The first-person shooter is a good time overall, and of course if you love it, there’ll be a 67% discount to tempt you when your trial time’s up, which enables you to keep any progress you’ve made so far.

There’s also some new free summer event content waiting for you, if you do decide to sign up.
