A wise man once said that life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. But as the kids say nowadays …ain’t nobody got time for that.

Wireframe is summing up the most essential games news for you in bite-size chunks, as often as we can.

Doctor Hoovr

Jodie Whittaker is coming back to lend her voice to another Doctor Who VR game, and this time it’ll be of the feature-length persuasion.

Maze Theory’s The Edge of Time will arrive on PlayStation VR, Oculus, and Vive in September, and feature some iconic Who baddies.

“Armed with the iconic Sonic Screwdriver, players will solve mind-bending puzzles, grapple with classic monsters and encounter new horizons in a quest to find the Doctor and defeat a powerful force that threatens to destroy the fabric of reality,” says the bumf.

Yes, please! In the meantime, here’s a teaser…

Motion Sickness

Nintendo Life is lamenting the lack of motion control in the port of Resident Evil 4. The Switch version is a basic conversion of the PS4/Xbox game update, which means that none of the original Wii motion controls made it into the new version. Not everyone’s glum about it, though, with one user saying that motion controls “belong in the pit of oblivion.”

Ahem, no comment.

Radmobile

Double Fine’s 3D rogue-like Rad now has a release date. The game will be released across Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on 20th August.

In Rad, the world has already ended twice, and you play a teen who scours the radioactive wasteland for a way to Make Planet Great Again.

“The fate of the world depends on the player, a sweet bat, and whatever strange new abilities they gain as the world around them ravages their body — twisting and mutating them into something far less than human, but far more powerful.”

Shh, you had us at “sweet bat.”

Pledge Of Tomorrow

In more release news, Xbox One and PC players can look forward to Outer Wilds on 30th May. The game plays with an evergreen sci-fi trope – the time loop. You’ll play as a space program rookie using a 20-minute loop window to learn and change elements of a time-stuck solar system. Outer Wilds has been in the works with Morbius Digital at Annapurna Interactive for a wee while, so we hope this final version is as good as the alpha.

Station To Station

Sony has launched a new studio, PlayStation Productions, to handle film and TV adaptations of its games going forward.

“We’ve got 25 years of game development experience and that’s created 25 years of great games, franchises and stories,” production head Shawn Layden told THR. “We feel that now is a good time to look at other media opportunities across streaming or film or television to give our worlds life in another spectrum.”

What game would you like to see become a movie or show?
