The Ready Or Not directors are planning to bring a Choose Your Own Adventure story to the big screen. More on Radio Silence’s new project below.

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, also known as Radio Silence, are busy men. Not only has the directing pair released Ready Or Not 2: Here We Go Again into the world earlier this year and are busy working on The Mummy 4, they’ve got another ambitious project in the works.

According to Deadline, Radio Silence are set to direct an adaptation of the interactive Choose Your Own Adventure book series. The series, which launched in 1979, allows the reader to decide how the book’s story plays out and ends, making them endlessly re-readable.

Tom Bissell, known for his work on Andor, The Disaster Artist and multiple video games, is writing the script for the film. No plot details or an official title have been released yet.

How Radio Silence and Bissell are planning on tackling the Choose Your Own Adventure structure is still unclear, too. Netflix tried their hand with it with Black Mirror: Bandersnatch which allowed the viewer to control Fionn Whitehead’s character’s story. Chooseco, the company that republished the Choose Your Own Adventure books, sued Netflix for using the “choose your own adventure” phrase. The lawsuit was eventually settled, but the details of how were never made public. Bandersnatch was also removed from Netflix in 2025 due to a big update.

Another similar project was last year’s Until Dawn, a movie adapted from a video game of the same name. Until Dawn also allowed the player to make different choices across the game, leading to different outcomes, but the film chose to completely abandon the game’s story, angering many fans, including this writer.

Radio Silence were able to resurrect the Scream franchise with the fifth Scream film in 2021 and 2024’s Abigail was a pleasant surprise in its brutality and coy humor, so if anyone’s able to tackle such a difficult structure, it’s these two.

We’ll keep you updated on the project’s progress.
