Barbie star Ryan Gosling has a quirky-sounding film lined up: a post-apocalyptic zombie comedy for Amazon MGM.
Having proved to everyone who didnāt go and see The Nice Guys how good he is at comedy in last yearās Barbie, Ryan Gosling has another potentially amusing project lined up.
Itās called I Used To Eat Brains, Now I Eat Kale, and Gosling will co-produce the film via his company General Admission. Amazon MGM Studios will distribute (so itāll appear in cinemas, on Prime Video, or perhaps both); it hasnāt been announced whether Gosling will actually star in it yet, but given actors often produce films for themselves to appear in, itās highly probably that he will.
Described as a āpost-post-apocalypticā film according to The Hollywood Reporter, I Used To Eat Brainsā¦ is said to be about former zombies who āstruggle to reintegrateā ā and struggle to switch over to vegetarianism, judging by the title.
The project has a slightly unusual origin. Itās co-written by filmmaking twin brothers Adam and Daniel Cooper, and began as a 42-page short story which was never published. Quite how it landed in Goslingās hands isnāt clear, though the Coopers have spent the past few years raising their profile with commercials, movie trailers and short films.
A pair of bios on their website might provide a hint at the kind of humour we can expect in their zombie movie. Writes Daniel Cooper:
Daniel is a writer, director, and editor who is presenting this bio in the third person for fear of sounding conceited. He owes his brilliance to an inveterate state of inquisition and a dexterous talent for finding impressive words to use on Thesaurus.com.
I Used To Eat Brains, Now I Eat Kale is still in its early stages, with a director yet to be attached. More on this one as it comes in.
