The Last of Us is getting its own haunted house as part of Universal Studios resortsā€™ Halloween Horror Nights attractions.

As if Naughty Dogā€™s The Last of Us games werenā€™t downright terrifying enough, a new attraction at Universal Studiosā€™ resorts is set to provide a real-world experience based on the series this autumn.

Part of Universalā€™s Halloween Horror Nights, which will take place at Universalā€™s resorts from 7 September to 31 October 2023, The Last of Us Haunted House will take place in an ā€œabandoned Pittsburgh.ā€

ā€œYou and your squad will encounter the terrifying and overgrown world of Naughty Dogā€™s video game in a brand new, terrifying way,ā€ Universalā€™s website reads. ā€œJoin Joel and Ellie, and donā€™t make a sound if you want to survive Clickers, Hunters and more. No matter what, keep finding something to fight for.ā€

Naughty Dog announced the attraction on its Twitter feed, along with an accompanying trailer. Those of a nervous disposition should look away now ā€“ or at the very least, turn the volume on your headphones down. This thing gets loud:

Just what we need: Clickers all up in our living room.

Halloween Horror Nights will take place at all four of Universalā€™s resorts ā€“ so thatā€™s Orlando, Florida, Hollywood, California, Japan and Singapore. The Last of Us haunted house is apparently one of ten such scary premises Universal has planned for this year, though details of the others havenā€™t yet been announced.

Tickets are already available for the Halloween Horror Nights attractions at Universalā€™s US resorts, and prices start from $79.99 per person for a single-night ticket. Universal also advise that ā€œThe event may be too intense for young children and is not recommended for children under the age of 13.ā€ Much like the games, then.

Oh, and bear in mind that thereā€™s ā€œno costumes or costume masks allowedā€. So donā€™t go thinking you can make yourself feel better by exploring the haunted house while dressed as Jason Voorhees or anything like that.
