Liam Hemsworth has made his debut as Geralt of Rivia in a new look and first teaser for Netflix’s The Witcher season 4.

Netflix has unveiled Liam Hemsworth’s look as Geralt Of Rivia in The Witcher season 4. Hemsworth is taking over the role from Henry Cavill who played the role for three seasons before departing the series.

Hemsworth’s casting has been a controversial one within the fan community. Cavill has been very open about his love for the book and game series that the series is based on and he fits the description of Geralt of Rivia, the titular monster hunter with some magical abilities.

Here’s our first, very brief teaser of The Witcher season 4.

Cavill left the series after he was due to make a triumphant return as Superman in a Man Of Steel follow-up of sorts. Well, those plans got scrapped after James Gunn took over the studio but Netflix confirmed that Cavill wouldn’t return to the role

In the teaser, Geralt looks gruff and grumpy as per usual, so Hemsworth has nailed that aspect of the look. He’s also sporting the usual long, white wig that Cavill also sported.

Hemsworth will be joined by the series’ usual cast including Freya Allan as Princess Cirilla of Cintra and Laurence Fishburne as Regis in the fourth season.

The Witcher season 4 doesn’t have a set release date on Netflix yet. The streamer did announce that The Witcher would come back for one more season, but season 5 would be its last
