If you really think about it, Transformers One is Wicked for people who hate Wicked. Not a witch in sight, just big robots doing robot-y things as young friends. This, by the way, is an honest compliment to Josh Cooley’s film, an animated adventure where Chris Hemsworth voices a young Optimus Prime and Brian Tyree Henry voices Megatron as young lads and, miraculously, friends. Spoiler alert: things don’t stay that way.
If you’re keen on a rewatch or simply missed this one in cinemas, we’ve got some good news for you. Transformers One is heading to – deep breath – Digital purchase, 4K UHD + Blu-ray SteelBook, 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on 10th December.
If you like to take it slow and aren’t sure of such commitment, you can also rent Transformers One digitally from 24th December.
