TY The Tasmanian Tiger creators Krome Studios have launched a Kickstarter that aims to see the remastered version of the 2002 game climb aboard the Nintendo Switch. Theyāre looking for £41,119 to get it done, and are already well on their way there.
Of the proposed Switch edition, Krome said:
āThe best part will be the new Switch controls where you can use them like boomerangs to throw and glide. And because it’s on the Switch, you can take it with you – it’s portable! While we’re at it, we’ll improve the graphics and the audio.ā
A full list of things that need paying for has also been posted:
Joycon 6-axis motion control for throwing the rangs, gliding and precision boomeranging!
Screen-space ambient occlusion
Fully dynamic shadows
Color correction and bloom
High definition (HD) art textures for the levels and characters
Improved particle effects
Improved camera
New Gamemode called “Hardcore Mode”
QA testing and problem fixing
Nintendo Lot Check
New TY character skins (a stretch goal feature)
Compatible with both the Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite*
TY is set on a fictional Aussie island, and you play a tiger searching for Thunder Eggs, which power a machine that helps you to locate talismans. You need to free your family from an alternate dimension, where theyāre being held by all-round bad guy Boss Cass.
EA originally published TY for GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC. The title was met with mixed reviews upon release.
