UK games chart shows big falls for some previously hot releases

The latest UK games chart has revealed that even if youā€™re a winner, youā€™re still pretty much in the Losersā€™ Club.

A couple of last weekā€™s chart stars ā€“ Astral Chain and Control ā€“ were both pushed out of the new top ten, falling 73% and 76% in week-on-week sales respectively. THQ Nordicā€™s Wreckfest managed to cling on at number 10, but still suffered a 70% drop. Horror title Man Of Medan fared better, hanging onto the number 3 spot with just a 53% drop.

NBA 2K20 seemingly reigned supreme in the UK, but sales figures confirmed that it has only done two-thirds of the numbers that NBA 2K19 did.

Elsewhere, Spyro Reignited Trilogy notched up second place with its Switch version, however, Activisionā€™s retro game made over 90% fewer sales than it racked up when it was released on PS4 in 2018.

Catherine: Full Body is the only other new entry in the chart, debuting at number 9.

Hereā€™s the official Top Ten for 7 September:

1 NBA 2K20
2 Spyro Reignited Trilogy
3 The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan
4 Mario Kart 8: Deluxe
5 Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled
6 Marvelā€™s Spider-Man
7 Super Mario Maker 2
8 FIFA 19
9 Catherine: Full Body
10 Wreckfest

The summer of our games discontent continues apace.
