Tom Hardy returns as Eddie Brock for one final time in this autumnās Venom: The Last Dance. Hereās a new trailer.
Venom is one of the more off-beat and wayward franchises in the superhero genre, with Tom Hardy evidently relishing his dual role of scruffy journalist Eddie Brock and Venom, the alien symbiote that becomes his unlikely partner.
Six years on from the 2018 original and the 2021 sequel, Let There Be Carnage, Hardy reprises the role for the third (and seemingly final) time in this Octoberās Venom The Last Dance. And if youāve been wondering whether or not itāll continue the knowingly over-the-top style of the last two movies, then fear not: the trailer below sees Venom fighting a monster on the roof of a moving jumbo jet and, a bit later, possessing a horse.
Actor and filmmaker Kelly Marcel (who wrote the last two installments) is on directing duties here, taking over from Ruben Fleischer (who did the first one) and Andy Serkis (who did the second). The plot appears to involve the discovery of more alien symbiotes by military scientists, represented by Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor, and itās hinted that Stephen Graham may play one of the more monstrous enemies Brock and Venom will face in the movie.

Essentially, it looks like an excuse for a lot more hare-brained action and black comedy, which is by no means a bad thing. Sony have been on slightly shaky ground with its Spider-Man adjacent superhero films of late, with Morbius and Madame Web scaring up less than glowing reviews. Itāll no doubt be hoping this autumnās Venom offering and JC Chandorās much-delayed Kraven The Hunter, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, will be given a more positive reception (the latterās out on the 13th December).
Venom: The Last Dance is out in UK cinemas on the 25th October 2024.
