Wicked flies to 4K Steelbook Blu-ray this November with a set of collectable artcards and a plethora of extras. Details below.
Not long now until Wicked: For Good defies gravity in cinemas globally, but in the meantime, you can still re-live the events of the first film. Despite our initial skepticism for breaking up the musical into two movies, Jon M. Chu’s Wicked turned out to be one of the cinematic highlights of 2024 and a rewatch is due before the release of the next film.
We’ve spied that a 4K Steelbook of Wicked is now up for pre-order. You can find that here.
The first film details the first half of Wicked The Musical, which digs into the past of the Wicked Witch Of The West, Elpahaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda The Good (Ariana Grande), who were once the best of friends at Shiz University. The first film ended dramatically as Elphaba took control of her own life, realized her power and flew away before being captured by the Wizard Of Oz.
The Steelbook comes with a set of collectable artcards, showcasing Elphaba and Glinda’s journey throughout the film.

Wicked was warmly received by critics, with particular praise going to Grande and Erivo’s chemistry. Chu’s film was also nominated several times at various awards shows earlier this year and it grossed over $700m at the global box office. The pressure is now on for Wicked: For Good to match the first film’s success and bring the story to a worthy conclusion.
