Street Fighter II was for sure an absolute arcade classic, but at times it felt like there was just no way to win, no matter how sublime your skills were, and there appears to be a pretty straightforward reason for that ā€“ the CPU was cheating.

YouTuber desk has decided to detail exactly how many cards Street Fighter IIā€™s CPU was keeping up its sleeve to reflect the times you got absolutely creamed. Not only does the CPU recover super quickly from stuns, it blatantly doesnā€™t have to charge up in the same way to pull special moves, and when it comes to dealing with blocks? Pfft, forget about it.

Capcomā€™s seminal game was originally released for arcades in 1991 as sequel to its 1987 title, Street Fighter, adding multiple playable characters with their own fighting styles, and command-based special moves in a six-button configuration with a combo system. It went on to become one of the highest-grossing video games of all time.

But it was clearly still a total git.
