Gary Oldman will return as Jackson Lamb in Slow Horses season 5, which is set to premiere in September. More on the new season below.

While we’ve waited literal years for Netflix and the Duffer Brothers to finish off Stranger Things, there’s something immensely satisfying about a TV show that’s as reliable as your favourite T-shirt. We’ve been enjoying a new season of AppleTV+’s Slow Horses at least once a year since its premiere, and that streak won’t be ending with season 5.

Slow Horses season 5 will premiere on the streaming service on 24th September with two episodes. After that, we’ll have to do with one episode a week until the season finale on 22nd October.

The new season will bring back Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb, the leader of Slough House, home to the black sheep of British spies. Jack Lowden, Kristin Scott Thomas, Jonathan Pryce and Aimee-Ffion Edwards are among the returning cast. Nick Mohammed, who also stars in the latest Film Stories Magazine cover, Deep Cover, will guest star in the new season.

Saul Metzstein, who previously directed season 3 of the series, will return to direct Slow Horses season 5.

Here’s what the press release offers for season 5: In season five of Slow Horses, everyone is suspicious when resident tech nerd Roddy Ho has a glamorous new girlfriend, but when a series of increasingly bizarre events occur across the city, it falls to the Slow Horses to work out how everything is connected. After all, Lamb knows that in the world of espionage, the London Rules – cover your back – always apply.

And not to worry, Slow Horses will also be back for season 6 after AppleTV+ renewed it back in October. Clearly, the streaming service is very confident in what they’ve got to offer audiences.
