White Lotus and Fallout star Walton Goggins is reportedly in talks to play M Bison, the main villain in the forthcoming Street Fighter movie.

Following his recent turn in the third season of The White Lotus is rightly being lauded for being the wonderful actor that he’s always been. We’re also reliably informed that lots of people are enjoying looking at pictures of him online that he posts too, so why not leverage that increased level of exposure to get a part in a big studio movie where he can steal every scene that he’s in?

That’s certainly our prediction for how things will turn out should a report from The InSneider prove to be accurate. According to the outlet, Goggins is in negotiations to play M Bison, the Street Fighter series’ big bad, the kind of sneering villain who wears a cloak just so you know how truly evil he really is. Bison was memorably played by Raul Julia in his final screen appearance in 1994’s Street Fighter just before his untimely death at the age of 54.

As for Goggins, he’s no stranger to playing scene-stealing villains, having memorably done so in films like Ant-Man And The Wasp, 2018’s Tomb Raider, a wonderful turn in Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight. He’s also played some inspired villainous turns on TV too, first opposite Timothy Olyphant on Justified and more recently as The Ghoul in Prime Video’s Fallout.

Sneider also offered a couple of other casting nuggets too: Country musician Orville Peck will portray masked fighter Vega, and comedian Eric Andre will also appear. This joins the other rumours we’ve heard that suggested some wild casting that includes Andrew Koji as Ryu, Noah Centineo as Ken, Jason Momoa as Blanka, and Roman Reigns as Akuma.

Should all of these rumours come to pass, Legendary and Capcom’s new take on the beloved videogame could be quite an experience With a cloak-wearing Goggins in scenery-chewing mode though, that sounds worth the price of admission alone. We’ll bring you more on Street Fighter as we hear it.
