The new cut of Justice League has been put together to accommodate those who don’t want to watch four hours of it in one go.
The build up to director Zack Snyder’s extended cut of Justice League continues, with the four-hour take on the 2017 movie due in just under a month. There had been some toing and froing as to whether the do-over would be released as a miniseries on HBO Max, or in one complete four hour feature version. It’s the latter we’re getting, but also, producer Deborah Snyder has confirmed that the new Justice League has also been constructed to be seen in pieces.
On the Lightcast podcast, she offered a tip about viewing the movie.
“I know a lot of fans are going to want to watch it straight through”, she argued. “But it also has parts. And what HBO Max is able to do is there’s going to be a timeline on the bottom, where you see the timeline of the thing, there’s going to be little indentations because each part has a title. And it’s kind of thematic”.
She clarified, adding “there’s like a little indentation in the timeline that you can go to on each of the chapter headings. So I think that’s really cool. Because we wanted to make sure that if you didn’t want to sit through the whole thing, you could go and watch each. That’s a lot to have to figure out, where you lost your place”.
It’s going to be odd when this cut of the film is actually out there after all the chatter about it over the years. But March 18th is the date in the calendar for it. More as we hear it.
