1987’s The Untouchables, starring Kevin Costner and Sean Connery, is heading to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in the UK this June: more here.
Ah, now this is more like it. To celebrate the 35th anniversary of one of Kevin Costner’s finest films, Brian De Palma’s The Untouchables is heading to the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format in the UK this June. The movie, which won Sean Connery his sole Academy Awards, sees Costner play Eliot Ness, as he battles to bring down Robert De Niro’s Al Capone. And, backed by an outstanding Ennio Morricone score, the movie – which co-stars Andy Garcia – has been a favourite for many, many years.
Now it’s getting its 4K upgrade. At the moment, it’s the Steelbook variants of the release that have gone up for order, and there are two options to pick from. The standard Steelbook comes with the film on Blu-ray and 4K disc. The collector’s edition, for an extra fiver, throws in some postcards, a couple of cards, and different packaging.
Both options are on sale from June 6th. You can find the standard edition here, and the collector’s edition here. We’ll let you know of a standard, non-Steelbook release when we hear of one.
