Historical British comedy Seize Them! lands in UK cinemas in April, and the trailer has landed.
Prolific comedy writer Andy Riley, along with his writing partner Kevin Cecil, has written for numerous comedy shows including Trigger Happy TV, So Graham Norton, Smack the Pony, The Armando Iannucci Shows, Black Books, Harry and Paul, Big Bad World and Veep. They also created and wrote the underrated Matt Berry sitcom Year of The Rabbit for Channel 4.
On the big screen, Cecil and Riley wrote the scripts for Gnomeo And Juliet and the sequel, Sherlock Gnomes.
Now, Riley has written the screenplay for Seize Them! a historical comedy with a huge ensemble cast of familiar faces from the British comedy scene. Originally set for release last year, weāre delighted to see itās now returned to the cinema release schedule.
The synopsis reads as follows:
Brimming with warmth, humour and swordfights,SEIZE THEM! is a comedy road movie set in the dark ages. The egotistical and clueless Queen Dagan is toppled from her throne. She’ll need help to survive as a fugitive and win back her kingdom. With her new friends, a castle worker and a shit shoveler, she begins her quest for justice.
Sex Education star Aimee Lou Wood plays the lead role of Queen Dagan, alongside Lolly Adefope, Nicola Coughlan, Paul Kaye, John Macmillan, Jessica Hynes, Nick Frost, James Acaster, Nitin Ganatra, Ben Ashenden and Matthew Cottle.

Itās a busy time for Lou Wood, as she is currently filming the forthcoming BBC sitcom Daddy Issues alongside David Morrisey, which is written by former stand-up comedian Danielle Ward.
That project follows āGemma (Lou Wood), who lives for the weekend when she can get blasted and party hard in Stockport, Manchester. But after joining the mile high club with a random hook-up on her way back from a holiday to Portugal, sheās pregnant, and it couldnāt come at a worse time. The only person Gemma has left in her life is her dad Malcolm (Morrissey), who is kind hearted but useless – he canāt load a washing machine, boil an egg or change the Wi-Fi password. Malcolm is suffering from the collapse of his family and living in a bedsit for divorced men. Which is how Gemma and her dad end up living in Gemmaās flat. She needs support at a critical time in a womanās life, he needs help microwaving rice without it explodingā.
Seize Them! will be released in UK cinemas on April 5th.
