Enter the multiverse of mad movie-title mashups in this week’s film quiz, which features 30 questions with answers smashed or unsmashed…

Where has the year gone? Two quizzes left before Christmas, and we haven’t even done one of our occasional movie title mashup rounds yet. By now, we reckon everyone’s heard of the Thursday Murder Club and his smashy answers game (even though our lawyers tell us we still haven’t) but the game involves telling us which two movies we’ve mixed together in each phoney plot summary.

If you haven’t played this round before, Doctor Strangelove Actually doesn’t work for various reasons, but “Peter Sellers plays multiple roles in multiple stories at Christmas” would get you there. For another Marvel example, “Peter Parker has a New York romance with a girl his own age” would be Spider-Manhattan. Or on the trickier end, “Owen Wilson takes money from kids to do every album in one concert” is Drillbit Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.

Basically, we’ve made another fine mess and it’s your job to clear it up, but don’t worry, there are some nice normal movie trivia questions on either side too. When you’ve finished all three rounds, you’ll find a link to a separate post with the correct answers at the bottom of this post. As always, this is just for fun, but please let us know how you did in the comments (scores out of 30 this week!) and leave us any other lovely feedback. We’ll be back next week with a Christmassy quiz…
