The first collaboration of director Antonie Fuqua and star Denzel Washington, Training Day, is heading back to UK cinemas in August.

22 years after it was first released, it’s been revealed that Training Day is set to get a fresh outing in UK cinemas. The film enjoyed a remaster and a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release earlier in the year as part of Warner Bros’ ongoing 100th birthday celebrations, and now Park Circus has picked up the mantle and the movie goes back onto the big screen in the UK on August 25th.

What the special occasion is isn’t clear, but perhaps it’s tying to director Antoine Fuqua and star Denzel Washington’s latest collaboration, The Equalizer 3, which is due in the autumn.

The re-release of Training Day looks like it’s on the modest side, and it won’t be getting a particularly wide release: we’re expecting under 50 screens across the UK. But do a bit of searching on August 25th, and you might get lucky…
