A new telling of A Christmas Carol is heading to cinemas in November – here are more details and the first trailer for the film.

A festive treat heading into cinemas in the UK this year looks to be a new retelling of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. The tale has been told many time before of course, and this one has no Muppets in it either. Yet it’s still got a lot going for it.

It’s from directors Jacqui Morris and David Morris, and the new film mixes a strong voice cast and what look to be some astonishing dance performances too. On voicing duties are Simon Russell Beale, Martin Freeman, Carey Mulligan, Daniel Kaluuya and Andy Serkis, whilst the dance cast features Michael Nunn, Jakub Franasowicz, Russell Maliphant, Karl Fagerlund Brekke, Mikey Boats, Grace Jabbari and Dana Fouras.

A trailer for the production has been released too to give you a flavour as to just what’s in store…

The synopsis reads as follows…

The classic tale unfolds in a rich tapestry of highly absorbing, theatrical drama featuring sumptuous visual effects inspired by the techniques of early cinema. In a daring twist of format, characters are portrayed by dancers and voiced by an eclectic cast of the world’s most recognisable actors.

And the film will be in cinemas on November 20th.
