Paramount confirms that as well as the newly-announced animated movie, that a live action Transformers film will be with us in 2022.
Paramount and Hasbro are slowly putting the wheels in motion for their new raft of Transformers movie, which look set to leave the Michael Bay era of the films long in the rear view mirror. Last week came the news that an animated movie was in development, but also it’s been known for some time that the studios had been pursuing two new avenges for a fresh live action Transformers film.
On the one hand, Joby Harold was penned to write a screenplay, and separately from him, so was James Vanderbilt. When one of them was in a position to go forward, then we’d get a new movie.
Now, the studio has given one of those films a release date of June 24th 2022. It’s unclear which of the live action projects has been given the go ahead, but at least one of them has clearly passed muster. When we get news on who is directing and starring, we will of course let you know.
