Marvel’s Head of TV Brad Winderbaum has been chatting about their upcoming series Agatha All Along – and it seems the studio is going full-on horror with this one.
2024 may have had a slow start with its horror films, but it’s now quickly shaping up to be one of the best years for the genre, especially as Osgood Perkins’ Longlegs gathers buzz as “the best serial killer film in recent memory.”
There might be another surprising horror title on the way: Agatha All Along. Marvel’s head of TV and streaming recently appeared on the Official Marvel Podcast (coming to us via IGN) to chat about the studio’s upcoming spin-off series.
“Agatha is really fun, but it’s really scary and it gets quite dramatic,” Winderbaum told the podcast. “She’s an amazing anti-hero and that show lures you in with the fun of Halloween, and before you know it, you’re crying.”

Agatha All Along will see Kathryn Hahn reprise her role as the villainous Agatha Harkness who caused chaos in Marvel’s WandaVision. The upcoming series has gone through several name changes, which at first seemed to be a worrying sign that Marvel wasn’t sure what to do with the show, but was later revealed to all be part of the plan and to indicate that Agatha was up to no good again.
The new series is scheduled to premiere two episodes on Disney+ on 18th September, with weekly episodes to follow.
“It’s a Marvel brand of scary,” Winderbaum said. “It’s a Halloween show. There are deadly stakes in this series. It’s a fun ride, but it’s a dangerous one.”
As well as leaning into horror, Agatha All Along will reportedly be a musical. Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who scribed the wonderfully catchy ‘Agatha All Along’ song for WandaVision, have returned to write more songs for the new series.
More on Agatha All Along as we hear it.
