Comedian Aisling Bea will headline quirky film And Mrs, a comedy about nuptials and naysayers, and here are the first details.
Putting a fresh spin on the wedding film has seen various stories hit the screen with no shortage of success. From the iconic Four Weddings and a Funeral to the documentary stylings of low budget British comedy The Wedding Video. Now, a quirkier take is on the way, in the form of And Mrs, and the first details have landed.
The official synopsis reads as follows:
Gemma’s American husband-to-be, Nathan drops dead right before their nuptials.
When, with some encouragement from her chaotic but well-meaning sister-in-law, Audrey, Gemma decides to press ahead with the wedding, she has to overcome public opinion, the law of the land and even her own family’s objections.
Comedian Aisling Bea headlines the film as Gemma, alongside Colin Hanks as Nathan and Billie Lourd as Audrey. Sitcom stars Peter Egan and Divian Ladwa also feature.
Daniel Reisinger directs from a screenplay by playwright Melissa Bubnic.
And Mrs is currently filming and is expected to be released in 2023. More on this one as we hear it.
