Over a quarter of a century of the greatly-missed Alan Rickman’s thoughts, observations and reviews will be making their way into print.
The journals of the late, great Alan Rickman are set to be published, following the acquisition of 27 of his diaries by publisher, Canongate. The book will, according to The Guardian, will be be one single volume condensed down from all of his writings.
Titled The Diaries Of Alan Rickman, the book will feature Rickman’s thoughts and recollections since the early 90s, when he shot to prominence in Hollywood following spectacular villainous turns in 1988’s Die Hard and 1991’s Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. The actor would go on to star in the Harry Potter films, the mighty Galaxy Quest and much, much more, all the while keeping journals about his experiences, which have been described as “witty, gossipy and utterly candid.”
Tragically, Rickman passed away of pancreatic cancer at the age of 69 in 2016, although he continued to write up until his death. The journals are also said to include reviews he he regularly wrote, especially of theatre performances, of which he was a huge fan. The Diaries Of Alan Rickman is set for an Autumn 2022 release.
