Several Disney+ TV shows, including Andor, are getting physical releases and in 4K too! More on those below.
In the age of streaming, physical media has become a bit of a hot topic. On one hand, digital libraries and streaming services mean that you’ve got an almost endless amount of films and TV shows at your disposal.
However, as Guillermo Del Toro noted, you only truly own a film if you own it physically. There are plenty of great TV shows and films on streaming services that are not available on physical media, but four Disney+ shows are getting 4K UHD Blu-ray releases so there’s still hope.
Andor, Moon Knight, Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Falcon And The Winter Soldier have been confirmed for 4K UHD Blu-ray and will be available from 30th April. At the time of writing, it looks like this is US only, with a UK release pending. We’re hoping to have more news on that soon, but for now, the discs are US only.
Loki, WandaVision and The Mandalorian were all released on 4K UHD in the UK following their release in the US, so we’re feeling pretty confident Andor, Moon Knight, Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Falcon And The Winter Soldier will also make their way to UK shores sooner rather than later.
The news comes only weeks after Disney announced it would be outsourcing their physical media to Sony in the US. These titles won’t be part of the agreement, but Andor’s season 2, which is currently in production, would fall under that deal.
All four shows come in collectible packaging and include heaps of extras to entice fans and collectors. Here’s a full breakdown of those.
