StudioCanal continues its commitment to the big screen with new dates for a pair of acclaimed upcoming releases – no straight to streaming here.
Whilst debate goes on around the film industry as to whether big studios should be sending their movies to cinema and streaming at the same time, StudioCanal has continued to show its absolute commitment to the big screen for its biggest releases.
We saw it with
Saint Maud, a movie that it was determined to release in cinemas after a lengthy enforced delay. Now we’re seeing it again with a pair of acclaimed releases,
Another Round and
Supernova.
The former stars Mads Mikkelsen, a Danish-Swedish film comedy drama about four friends who put to the test the idea that their lives will be improved if they continually have alcohol in their bloodstream. Debuting in the UK to rich acclaim at the London Film Festival, the movie has shifted from a November release to February 5
th 2021.
And then there’s the superb
Supernova, starring Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci. Again, another acclaimed London Film Festival debut, and the plan had been to have it in cinemas around now. Instead, StudioCanal remains committed to a big screen release for the movie, and it’ll now arrive on Friday 5
th March.
Both films are well worth putting in your diary. More on both of them in due course…
