The first Avatar movie is heading to UK cinema screens in September, as part of the build up to Avatar: The Way Of Water.
As had been teased, Disney is stoking up the anticipation for director James Cameron’s first live action feature film since Avatar, with a re-release of, well, Avatar.
Ahead of Avatar: The Way Of Water landing in December – it now has a title and everything – the first film will now be getting a wide release in UK cinemas from Friday 23rd September. This is in part to reignite interest in the series, which is finally getting its first sequel well over a decade since the original became the biggest film of all time at the box office.
Expect Avatar to return to cinemas in 3D too when it lands, and Disney will hope that appetites will be duly whetted for The Way Of Water’s arrival on Friday 16th December.
Once all this is done, if Cameron could sign off that 4K remaster of The Abyss, we’d be obliged. Ta.
