The fourth instalment in the Beverly Hills Cop series, previously known as Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley, has a new name and a new trailer to go along with it.
Now known as Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F (presuming Netflix didnāt just hit backspace a few too many times on the press release), the film is heading to Netflix next summer, and finds Eddie Murphyās Detective Foley teaming up with his daughter (Taylour Page) to break things, break out of things, and shoot people, we reckon.
Check out the Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F trailer below:
Hereās the official synopsis, courtesy of Netflix:
Detective Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) is back on the beat in Beverly Hills. After his daughter’s life is threatened, she (Taylour Paige) and Foley team up with a new partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and old pals Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton) to turn up the heat and uncover a conspiracy.
Kevin Bacon (of āSix Degrees Of Kevin Baconā fame) is also joining the cast as a captain in the Beverly Hills Police Department.
The follow-up comes a whole 20 years after the last Beverly Hills movie, Beverly Hills Cop III, drew the original trilogy to a close in 1994.
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer said of the film: “Eddieās such an incredible artist. He can do drama, he can do comedy – he can do anything. And heās the same Axel Foley. Heās still on the streets. Heās still doing what he does. Obviously with age you get wiser. But he still has the twinkle in his eye.ā
