Brett Ratner, accused of sexual misconduct, is directing a film about Melania Trump, married to a man accused of sexual misconduct.

Content warning: the following post contains descriptions of sexual assault that some readers may find distressing.

It’s been ten years since Brett Ratner last had a film out, the 2014 Hercules movie starring Dwayne Johnson. In the decade since, Ratner has been accused of rape, sexual assault and harassment. Ratner has denied the allegations, most of which surfaced in an extensive Los Angeles Times expose.

We don’t usual take a large slice of someone else’s article, but hopefully in this instance, neither you nor the Los Angeles Times will mind. Here’s one of the many allegations in the piece:

Olivia Munn said that while visiting the set of the 2004 Ratner-directed “After the Sunset” when she was still an aspiring actress, he masturbated in front of her in his trailer when she went to deliver a meal. Munn wrote about the incident in her 2010 collection of essays without naming Ratner. On a television show a year later, Ratner identified himself as the director, and claimed that he had “banged” her, something he later said was not true. The same year her book was published, Munn ran into Ratner at a party thrown by Creative Artists Agency and he boasted of ejaculating on magazine covers featuring her image, she told The Times.

Ratner was once set to produce the Oscars, but stepped away from the job after saying that “rehearsal is for fags”.

Melania Trump is the wife of a convicted felon, and a man accused of sexual assault. Her husband is liable for sexual abuse and defamation, as reported here, and via several other outlets.

Anyway, Melania Trump has now seemingly given Brett Ratner cooperation and sign-off on an upcoming documentary about her life. The film will be released on streaming and in cinemas by Amazon MGM.

No release date details have been announced.
