As filming gets underway in the UK, the full cast has been revealed for The Beekeeper, and here are the details.
It’s been a little while since we’ve seen the mighty Jason Statham lead a film on the big screen, in Guy Ritchie’s Wrath Of Man last year. His new film with Ritchie, Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, was pulled from the schedule earlier this year and as yet does not have a UK release date.
However, he is now busy filming The Beekeeper, currently his only original film in the next few years which isn’t a sequel.
The plot will follow the titular spy, known as a ‘beekeeper’, who embarks on a brutal campaign of vengeance. No more plot details have been released, but we’re sure it will have a sting in its tail. This stuff writes itself, right?
Joining Statham in the ensemble then are Oscar winner Jeremy Irons, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi and Josh Hutcherson.
Training Day scribe David Ayer is directing from a screenplay by Salt writer Kurt Wimmer.
Filming is currently underway in the UK, we’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
