Kevin Smith will finally get his chance to close out the Clerks trilogy, as Clerks III gets set to shoot this very August. It’s been an on-off project for many, many years now, but it looks as if writer/director Kevin Smith will finally be making Clerks III this year. The closest he got previously led to him reusing some of the ideas in his last movie, Jay & Silent Bob Reboot. Lionsgate has snapped those rights up, and we’ll learn more of its release plans in due course. For now, filming is set to begin in August, and it shouldn’t take too long to get this one in the can. Not unless Smith is planning a huge special effects sequence that’d take the whole series in a very, very different direction.
