Colin Trevorrow is heading to Area 51 with a conspiracy thriller he is producing and directing for Paramount. More details on the project below.

Colin Trevorrow is swapping dinosaurs and, er, bugs for something a little more cosmic. The Jurassic World: Dominion director has signed on to direct a new conspiracy thriller for Paramount Pictures, Deadline reports.

The project has no title yet, or at least one hasn’t been revealed, but the script is written by William and Thomas Wheeler. The two writers previously collaborated on the script for The Lego Ninjago Movie.  Trevorrow will also act as executive producer.

Plot details are largely being kept under wraps, but according to Deadline, the film is “Set in the late 1980s, [and] follows [a] local Las Vegas TV news journalist who first broke the story of Area 51.”

By the sounds of it, there will be more human action than aliens running around, but there has been a bit of a drought when it comes to Area 51 movies lately, so we’re excited nonetheless.
