Gerard Butler and OāShea Jackson are both back for Den Of Thieves 2: Pantera, which is confirmed for January 2025 release.-
Happily and proudly drawing influence from Michael Mann’s Heat, the heist thriller Den Of Thieves is a really entertaining movie. Released in 2018, it stars Gerard Butler and O’Shea Jackson, and was written and directed by Christian Gudegast.
The film – rightly – was something of a success as well, and the wheels were soon in metaphorical motion for a follow-up. It’s had to take its place in the queue behind some other Gerard Butler films, including the mighty Plane, but now Den Of Thieves 2: Pantera is readying for release.
The film shot in 2023, with Gerard Butler and O’Shea Jackson again headlining the film. Christian Gudegast is again in the director’s chair too, having penned the screenplay. Lionsgate, which backed the first movie, has put money into the second, and we finally have an idea when we’re going to get it.
The first poster for the film has given the game away: it’s listing at the bottom a January 2025 release, and in America, that’s confirmed as 10th January 2025. We don’t have a confirmed UK release yet, and the film hasn’t appeared on the schedule over here. It’d be distinctly odd were it not to be released in the same time frame, however.
The film will be picking up following the events of its predecessor, and inevitably, another heist is going to be involved. With Gerard Butler also having shot Greenland 2, it looks like 2025 might just be the year of The Butler Sequel, and would just add that he still has time to sneak in Geostorm 2.
