Dwayne Johnson announces new Christmas project for Amazon, Big Red, set to release in 2023.
Dwayne Johnson has re-teamed with Chris Morgan (Hobbs & Shaw) to give Christmas the ‘Rock’ treatment with new film Red One. The film is being developed for Amazon Studios and is based on an original story from Hiram Garcia, the president of production at Seven Bucks, Johnson’s production studio.
The film is described as ‘a globe-trotting, four-quadrant action-adventure comedy, imagining a whole new universe to explore within the holiday genre’.
Big Red is set to film in 2022, to release in 2023. However Johnson and his team at Seven Bucks are not just satisfied with reigning supreme on the streaming charts, he and Amazon are looking at the project as a multiple industry project, providing opportunities for gift purchases and beyond.
