Fallout season 2 isn’t due to stream until December, but Prime Video has already ordered season 3 of the hit post-apocalyptic series.
Fallout made stars of Ella Purnell and Walton Goggins when it began streaming in 2024, and the post-apocalyptic series was so successful for Prime Video that season 2 was ordered almost right away.
Since then, everyone involved has been working away on that second run of episodes, with Fallout season 2 due to premiere on Prime Video this December. Months before that happens, though, Amazon MGM has gone and ordered a third season.
It’s a further sign of its studio’s faith in the show’s long-term future, with season 1 said to have attracted some 100m viewers across its eight-episode run. Sci-fi series like these aren’t cheap to make, however, so the powers that be at its studio clearly think that viewers will coming back for more of its mixture of sci-fi western and pitch black comedy.

“We are absolutely thrilled that our global Prime Video customers will be able to delve deeper into the wonderfully surreal and captivating world of Fallout,” Amazon MGM TV exec Vernon Sanders said in a statement to Variety. “Jonah, Lisa, Geneva, and Graham have done an exceptional job bringing this beloved videogame franchise to vivid life on Prime Video. Together with our amazing partners at Bethesda Games and Bethesda Softworks, we are delighted to announce a third season of Fallout, well
ahead of the much-anticipated debut of Season Two.”
Season 2 also has a teaser trailer, featuring a particularly dapper Walton Goggins, which you can see here:
On the subject of gloomy dystopias where desperate people fight over scraps, Prime Video has also ordered two more seasons of Beast Games, the game show hosted by rictus-grin YouTuber, MrBeast. ‘Inspired’, to put it politely, by Netflix’s Squid Game: The Challenge, it sees 1,000 contestants perform assorted tasks in a bid to win a $10m prize pot. It’s been a hit with audiences, clearly, with 50m viewers when it streamed in late December.
“MrBeast achieved a significant milestone for our global Prime Video customers, bringing to life the largest reality competition series ever,” said Vernon Sanders (yep, him again) in a further statement. “Following its record-breaking first season, we are thrilled to announce that two more seasons of Beast Games are on the way, and we eagerly anticipate all of the new, jaw-dropping challenges MrBeast has planned for the players.”
Fallout season 2 premieres in December 2025. Beast Games' streaming dates have yet to be announced.
