The Film Stories Podcast Network is very pleased to welcome three new shows from author and film critic John Bleasdale… Writers on Film, Cinema Italia and The James Bond Book Club.
In Writers on Film, the only podcast to talk books on cinema, John talks to a galaxy of authors, film critics and passionate film obsessives about the books they have written on the entire gamut of cinema history, from Golden Age Hollywood to the newest of new blockbusters. Almost 200 episodes to date and going strong.
Cinema Italia is John’s second passion project, exploring the history of film in the country he made his home, covering a range of Italian classics and genres.
The James Bond Book Club takes a movie-adjacent look at the canon of Ian Fleming and the Bond series, adding context to the broader picture of 007.
Bleasdale says about his shows: “I started Writers on Film in 2021 and have had a wonderful time talking to the most committed enthusiastic cinephiles, the people who literally “wrote the book” on their areas of expertise. Cinema Italia has had two smaller seasons, but has involved similar conversations with similarly minded international experts. Podcasting has been such a joy but if there’s been one frustration it has been in trying to grow the audience for all these conversations which merit to be heard. With its passion for cinema, Film Stories is the perfect partner going forward with Writers on Film, Cinema Italia and The James Bond Book Club. And who knows what else!”
Writers on Film and The James Bond Book Club airs on a regular basis while Cinema Italia is seasonal and will return with new episodes at a later date.
