Producer Craig Perry says filming is now underway on what is currently called Final Destination: Bloodlines, with its release set for 2025.

Death is an inescapable spectre that will kill its victims no matter what they do. In related news, the Final Destination franchise is a quarter of a century old next year.

To mark the occasion, a sixth Final Destination film is being prepared, and series producer Craig Perry has revealed on social media that shooting is currently underway. He’s even revealed a title: Final Destination: Bloodlines – though that might be subject to change in the near future. More on this in just a second.

“After a long, hard slog through the pandemic and the strikes, Day One is finally in the can,” Craig Perry wrote on Facebook (via Bloody Disgusting). “2025 will mark the 25th anniversary of the release of the first installment in the franchise. To honor the occasion with another worldwide theatrical release (in IMAX, no less) is a rare and wonderful thing.”

The sequel will be directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B Stein, while series creator Jeffrey Riddick has joined forces with Lori Evans Taylor and Guy Busick to write the script. As noted by Dread Central, cinematographer Christian Sebaldt has also confirmed that filming is underway, with the filmmaker posting an image of himself – seemingly posing outside a sound stage – on Instagram.

Little is known about the specifics of the film, though its director told Collider a while back that the sixth Final Destination will offer an “expansion of the universe” in some form. Last year, the talkative Craig Perry teased that the sequel will include a death sequence set in a tattoo parlour.

As for the title, Perry has suggested that it may yet change – not least because the word ‘Bloodlines’ and its variants have appeared a lot in other film and videogame titles in recent years.

“I know, I know – Pet Sematary: Bloodlines,” Perry wrote on Facebook. “But this is the title we’ve had for three years, and we’re keeping it… for now.”

Who will appear and subsequently die in Final Destination: Bloodlines? No names have been announced, but with filming underway, there’s presumably at least one actor performing in front of a camera somewhere. We’ll bring you more as we get it.
