Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan will be returning for Freaky Friday 2, even if Disney hasn’t as of yet confirmed the news.

As she continues to do the rounds of awards campaigning – thanks in no small part to her Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for Everything Everywhere All At Once – the mighty Jamie Lee Curtis is being asked about other projects too. And, in this particular case, she’s given a promising answer.

Back in 2003, she starred in the remake of Freaky Friday, along with Lindsay Lohan. In more recent times, whispers have arisen about that film being revisited again, with a sequel on the cards. An idea was taken to parent studio Disney towards the end of last year, and it seems like said studio was rather keen too.

Curtis has given a promising update to Variety at this weekend’s Producers Guild Awards, telling the outlet that “it’s going to happen”. She added that “without saying there’s anything officially happening, I’m looking at you in this moment and saying of course it’s going to happen”.

Lindsay Lohan is also set to return, and out guess is that this will be a Disney+ production. For Disney’s part, it’s not saying anything just yet, but expect more news later this year.
