Jaume Collet-Serraās follow-up to last yearās Carry-On is a Blumhouse horror called The Woman In The Yard. Hereās the new trailer:
Jaume Collet-Serra is known for making entertaining films that offer pulpy thrills. Audiences are renowned for enjoying such films. Why else would Carry-On, the filmmakerās most recent outing have become Netflix’s fifth most-watched film of all time? A few theories, but yāknow.
The filmmaker is adept at setting up high-concept scenarios and then letting them play out. From the high-stakes airport tension of Carry-On to Blake Livelyās surfer being marooned on a rock with only a shark for company in 2016ās The Shallows, Collet-Serra knows his way around a simple yet effective setup.
For his next film, Collet-Serra looks to be doing the same again ā only this time with a lean back into horror territory. His next film is the Blumhouse horror The Woman In The Yard, which is set for release on 28th March.
Hereās the synopsis:
A mysterious woman who repeatedly appears in a family’s front yard, often delivering chilling warnings or unsettling messages, leaving the residents to question her identity, motives, and the potential danger she might pose.’
It’s the kind of high-concept idea that Collet-Serra specialises in. The French directorās other horror flicks include House Of Wax (2005) and Orphan (2009).
Danielle Deadwyler returns to work with Collet-Serra again following their collaboration on Carry-On, while Okwui Okpokwasili, Russell Hornsby, Peyton Jackson, and Estella Kahiha co-star. You can find the new trailer below ahead of the filmās UK release ā in cinemas ā next month.
