Kal Penn reveals that the team behind the Harold & Kumar movies want to do another.
To date, we’ve had a trilogy of Harold & Kumar movies, that have each become modest box office successes and more sizeable cult hits. They star, of course, John Cho and Kal Penn, with Jon Hurwtiz and Hayden Schlossberg creating the series and writing all three instalments (including directing one of the films too).
In a new interview, Kal Penn has admitted that the group would love to do a fourth film, but any chance of them doing so – even before recent events – has been held up by scheduling.
“We would love to do a fourth movie. John Cho and I text about it all the time”, Penn told Variety, adding that Hurwitz and Schlossberg are all interested too”.
He added that they’ve been very busy of late, but “want to find the right venue and the right timing. We keep talking about it and are hoping in the next year or so to be able to find a good home”.
Events have overtaken the comments somewhat, but nonetheless, the intent is clearly there for another movie. It may be quite a while before we see it, however.
